The most obvious reason for having your grease ducts cleaned on a regular basis is that non maintained ducts are very high fire risk. Due to the build up of grease that can lay dorment inside a duct which can be easily set alight from fryer flare ups or extensive heat.

Other then the fire risk there are other reasons one must maintain their ducting system.

1) Australian Standard:
It is stipulated in the Australian Standards that Grease Ducts must be cleaned on a regular basis.

2) Breach of Health and Saftey Regulations:
By not having your Range hood and Grease duct system, including the fan, maintained on a regular basis, you a put your self at risk of recieving a fine from the Council Health inspectors or you may also be closed down.

3) Insurance:
Did you know that your insurance company may reduce or decline any insurance payment you may be entitled to if they find that you failed to maintain your Duct System?
